On Wednesday, May 20, the inov3PT team welcomed 15 students from UniLaSalle Beauvais (4th and 5th year) to the Achicourt site for a day dedicated to wireworms!
Objective: to provide theoretical foundations and hands-on field experience

Field Meeting
On Monday, March 30, a field meeting titled “Know Them Better to Manage Them Better” was held at the Terre d’Essais station as part of the TaupiFAST2 project
Objective: to improve and standardize the monitoring of adult grubs in plots during the spring, the sorting of soil samples, and the identification of wireworms
Following a classroom presentation by our colleague B. Ngala, it was time for hands-on practice

↪️ Identifying the wireworms, larvae, and adults that were collected

A new research technician
M. Demoustier joined the inov3PT team three weeks ago as a research technician at the Achicourt site !
Since the beginning of March, the team has been busy with a wide range of activities
After earning a Master's degree in Biodiversity, Ecology, and Evolution (BEE) from the University of Lille in 2025, she immediately joined the TaupiFAST2 project
This research is being conducted at 8 pilot sites in France thanks to the collaboration of several farmers.
It will provide insights into the various species of wireworms and associated biodiversity, under different soil and climate conditions and over the course of a full crop rotation.

The TaupiFAST2 project partners are gathering today at the Montardon Agrosite near Pau, ahead of the second steering committee meeting scheduled for tomorrow morning !
On the agenda :

Workshops focused on sharing the methods and results obtained by the partners during the fist year of the project (as well as from previous projects !) to look ahead to the 2026 objectives and the harmonization of protocols !

A new Intern
A. Marquilly joined the inov3PT team at the Achicourt site a week ago !
Under the supervision of our colleague B. Ngala, he will be setting up trials to test various alternative strategies for controlling wireworms
Master's student in the 'Plants and Society : Sustainable Agriculture, Landscape and Phytovalorization' program at the UFR SFA (Fundamental and Applied Sciences, University of Poitiers)
His 6-month internship is part of the TaupiFAST2 project

Responding to a collective challenge
