MILTALOC
Protection against late blight, which currently relies on the extensive use of fungicides, presents agronomic, environmental, economic and health challenges, requiring coordination across the sector. The MILTALOC project was set up to ensure the long-term protection against late blight and to address these multiple challenges.

Potatoes can be attacked by numerous pathogens, the most damaging of which are late blight and the Y virus. The development of potato varieties that are multi-resistant to these two pathogens in particular is one of the key strategies for protecting the crop whilst reducing the use of synthetic plant protection products.
