Developement of new control strategies based on biocontrol

The development of alternative techniques and biocontrol solutions is one of the main thrusts of the RDI strategy for seed potato, offering alternatives to synthetic molecules in the general context of reducing inputs and the Ecophyto 2025 plan.

For several years now, the seed potato sector has been involved in upstream research and the development of alternative solutions or in testing existing solutions on the market, initially for blackleg disease.

This research has been extended to cover pests and other potato pathogens, in particular wireworms, aphids, nematodes, brown rhizoctonia, fusariosis and virus Y.
